H.U.G. -  His Uplifting Grace. This is what we hope to share with each of our Community H.U.G. Cookouts.

The H.U.G. cookouts are held in targeted communities throughout south Metro Atlanta. They are simple affairs where volunteers from Community Bible Church go in, grill some burgers and dogs and let the community know that God cares about them.

We might take with us some donated clothing, school supplies, toys or other goodies depending on what we have available at the time. Sometimes we will set up a coloring table for kids or we might have some crafts for them to make. Older children and young adults will enjoy tossing around a Frisbee or football, should there be enough room.

At each of our events we offer a prayer table for those who feel the tug of the Holy Spirit and we distribute information such as testimonials, information about our Celebrate Recovery program, and information about our church.

The H.U.G. cookouts are not intended to solicit memberships for CBC, they are intended to share the love of Christ. In each community we attempt to set up in-community bible study groups to continue making an impact on the community long after the cookout is over.

You can help.

At each of our cookouts we need the donation of food, soft drinks, slightly used clothing, school supplies, used toys in good condition, and other items.  We also need volunteers to work the cookout and to adopt a community to  monitor and occasionally attend their bible studies.
