40 Days of Community: Community Bible Church: Atlanta, Stockbridge, Georgia

DEMONSTRATE GOD'S LOVE. That is the message of Community Bible Church's upcoming "40 Days of Community" campaign. It echoes the message promulgated by the church since it's founding as Atlanta Youth Ranch (later Clayton Community Church) in Clayton County, Georgia, back in the 1960's.

During the 40 Days of Community campaign the entire local community will experience Christian love as demonstrated through the members of Community Bible Church.

Small groups will be formed in the homes of church members throughout south metro Atlanta, meeting once per week to worship God and plan their strategy to make a difference in the community.

Each group will instigate and complete a project of their choice to demonstrate the love of Christ in their communities. Some projects might require a large commitment of time and resources while others will require very little. Each group will perform in accordance with their own abilities, honoring God through their commitment to community service.

An elderly person's grass might be cut, or a charitable organization's building repainted. Cookies might be baked and delivered to a nursing home or clothing might be collected and delivered to a shelter. A vacant, trash-filled lot cleared and restored to a thing of beauty. A day might be spent with abused children, proving that someone really cares. No projects are assigned. The limits of each group is set only by their own imagination.

The members of Community Bible Church are spread far and wide throughout the area, and it is the intent of the 40 Days of Community campaign to touch the neighborhood of each it its members.

Presentation of the message of love will not cease with the end of the campaign. Neighborhood groups will be encouraged to continue regularly meet, worship, and demonstrate God's love within their community in an effort to glorify God and lead others to Christ.
