01/01/2009: "Neal Cooper & Friends at the Nugget Drop"

My family and I had spent the early evening at the home of some wonderful friends enjoying a delicious new-years diner. Ham, turkey, cheese mashed potatoes and spinich casserole were among the fixings. Afterwards, we decided to drop in on the festivities at Truett's Grill, where they hold the annual nugget drop.

We were greeted by a number of friends from Community Bible Church, both participating in the event and simply enjoying the celebration.

As we walked in Neal Cooper was on stage performing some of his popular Christian compositions as well as some rock-n-roll standards.

I happened to catch some of Neal's performance on video (sorry for the recording quality). It was so cold it made your hands hurt, but Neal and his gang from the church, wrapped up as warm as they could be, pulled off a wonderful performance.

As we walked around we spotted other members of the church taking an active part in the event, ensuring that all had a wonderful time. Although, to my knowledge, the church had no official participation, by the participation of its individual members this event is one more example of Community reaching out.
