02/05/2009: "Then God Stepped In..."

The Silver Stars Ministry has been working their hearts out trying to raise money to buy a chair lift for the van of someone who has an immediate need. They have sold cookbooks, held a silent auction, sold candles, and even hosted a spaghetti dinner on February 4th.

The spaghetti dinner was a great success. Patrons enjoyed some wonderful spaghetti, salad bar and desert. Children ran around with painted faces and balloons shaped like their favorite animal. Old friends and new acquaintances enjoyed the fellowship as they dined in the Community Bible Church atrium.

Success was in the works for this project, but it was not entirely due to the ministry's efforts. God had a hand in it. You see, money is tight for everyone. While the ministry was having good success there was concern over whether or not they would achieve their goal. The last several days have been nail-biters for the ministry. Then God stepped in.

Someone contacted the ministry who had purchased the exact same chair lift for a disabled family member. Sadly, before the chair lift could be installed the family member passed away. The chair lift was offered to the ministry for one-third of its original cost!

The ministry was able to obtain the chair lift at a steep discount and they have money left over to help other members of our community.

The Silver Stars Ministry would like to thank everyone who participated in their efforts through the donation of time, money, products and/or services. But most of all, the Ministry thanks God for the blessing He provided.
