10/22/2009: "Salvation at Walnut Grove"

It was a beautiful but warm day when we visited Walnut Grove Apartments in Jonesboro, Georgia for our second time. We were there to share the the love of Christ , demonstrating to the guests that God does care.

Walnut Grove Apartments, North McDonough St, Jonesboro, Ga We had a good team of people volunteer for the event. For many this was not their first HUG Cookout. They had grown to love the event, the interaction with our guests and the sharing God's love in a generous and unselfish manner.

While the event was as celebratory as any in the past, the Holy Spirit moved through the volunteers and more witnessing and prayer took place today than at most. One on one with the guests volunteers shared the tremendous impact Christ has had in their lives providing absolute proof that Christ can and does make a positive difference in the lives of believers.

By the end of the event two guests had surrendered their lives to Christ and one had rededicated their life to the Lord.

The volunteers did nothing special. They performed as they always had. What made them such a success today was one simple fact: they were there. By being there they gave the Holy Spirit the opportunity to work through them. It is that simple.
